HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR HOME: TIPS AND TRICKS

If you’re trying to sell your home, or if you just want to do a little bit of spring cleaning, it’s necessary to do some major decluttering. Depending on how long it’s been since you’ve done any sort of decluttering, this could prove to be a monumental task.

Here’s a list of easy-to-follow tips and tricks for decluttering your home:

  • The three box method. Get three boxes together, and label them “keep,” “storage,” and “get rid of it.” Fill the boxes accordingly. Take the stuff that you put in the “get rid of it” box to charity, put the “storage” box either in the basement or in a storage unit, and put the stuff that you’re keeping away in their appropriate place.
  • Don’t be afraid to part with things. When you come across something, ask yourself when you last used whatever it is. If you haven’t used it in more than 6 months, get rid of it.
  • Start small. Don’t tackle the largest room in the house when you first start decluttering. Instead, start with the kitchen cabinets — throw out everything that’s expired, drop off what you’re not eating to your local food charity – and work your way to larger rooms. But most important of all, stay committed to doing it.

These are just a few of the many tips and tricks we recommend for you in order to declutter your home. It will take time, but it can be done. For more information about us and our services, contact us today to see what we can do for you.
